I like the description of 殘年急景. Sometimes chinese proverbs is the best description which you cannot be found in other languages.
The new year mass reminded me of this prayer, which I had said for 5 years every day non-stop. At that time I didn't know the true meaning of it, from now, I'm trying to get an insight from it. Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi,
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy;
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
On the way home, I was surprised that there were not many people on the roads. Couldn't feel any feeling of waiting for a new year. Suddenly this song flowed into my ears. Why there's such a song in my sonic player? Anyway, I'm going to qoute it here, to mark how I ended 2005.
I'm going to wait for the moment with my favourite sparkling wine. Happy New Year Alvis. It is not a fullstop, but just a semicolon.
I wish you, a very very happy happy new year.
Bye Bye 2005
