Goodbye Lenin!

This is my all time favourite that I'd never forget, a 2003 German movie, which made Daniel Bruhl a star. It's an ironic and hilarious story. It's all about a beloved mother.

In 1989, Alex, demonstrating on the street, was seen by his communist mother who then suffered from a heart attack. When she woke up 8 months later, the Berlin wall was gone. The world moved on without waiting for her.

Alex, out of guilt or love to his mom, tried to resume the world around them back to 8 months ago, fighting against the tide of westernization.

The charade began. Lies hide another lie.

At last, mom was told everything that Alex has been doing for her. The movie didn't say whether she approved it for not, or whether she liked it or not. But just when she was watching the fake news recorded by Alex and his friend, she wasn't actually watching the tv, but side of Alex.

She died afterwards. Alex was comforted by himself that after all his mom didn't know the truth. She brought his love and this little secret with her. The little 'communist room', was always in their hearts.

Highly recommended.

Daniel Bruhl makes me think of Ryohei Matsuda, who resembles to him and share every aspect as a actor. "Love Collage"made Ryohei a star and which I watched for 5 times, ranking no. 1 and outweighing Shrek and X-Men.

I like their movies. Edukators is another movie of Daniel that is highly recommended. He's a rebel again.

Wow..i like Love Collage too! Just watched it again last Saturday with my dad sighing beside.."..have already watched la bo..watch again?"..nevermind, i guess the movie still have room for them to enjoy or think...mum asked "the girl is a ghost?"...haha...it became a scary movie suddenly.

I like the story, like the way they present the story, the photos, the Canon, and the photo where a little child placed two mandarins beside his ears.
