Between two of my favourite songs of D Rice - Amie and Cold Water, there is a very silent song that I'd been missing. Because of the noisy surrounding I couldn't hear well what he is singing in that song. But surprisingly I could hear that on a noisy MTR and it immediately shocked my heart.
It becomes my favourite song in this new year. Nothing related to me, but how come D Rice's voice can be so heartbreaking?
Cheers darlin'
here's to you and your lover boy
Cheers darlin'
I got years to wait around for you
Cheers darlin'
I've got your wedding bells in my ear
Cheers darlin'
you give me three cigarettes to smoke my tears away
and I die when you mention his name
and I lie I should have kissed you when we were running in the rain
what am I, darlin'?
a whisper in your ear?
a piece of your cake?
what am I, darlin'?
they boy you can fear?
or your biggest mistake?
