At the beginning of the gospel

Proclaimed repentance, prepared the way of the Messiah, died.

John the Baptist did so before Jesus came.

Proclaimed the Good New, prepared the way of the Father, died.

Jesus did so before we came to Him.

We too, living out our discipleship, should proclaim His Words, prepare for Christ's coming, and die to ourselves.

We expect he will come to us again, we anticipate what he will bring us and we prepare ourselve to receive what he is going to give us. The hope to see him, the faith in his grace and the love to do what we are told.

That is what we should do at the time when we are waiting for him. With the spirit of expection, anticipation and preparation, this is right the way as the beginning of the gospel.
