Elijah called upon Elisha.
Jesus called upon his twelve apostles.

They were called with a purpose. To give.

We are called upon when we read today’s gospel.

We are not going to drive out demons as if those on the movies, we are driving out demons when we fight against our own greed and other worldly desires.

We are not going to heal somebody’s disease with bare hands, we are healing people’s hearts with our patience and compassion.

We are going to give this community our abilities, to make things better, to help out each others. We are going to give our hearts to let each other feel the warmth around us.

That is why we are called upon. That is how we can be his instruments.

We are also called to give.
